When it comes to third-party games, 2022 is looking strong. All three games are system sellers that will make owning an Xbox Series X/S worthwhile, along with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Xbox Series X/S players can look forward to some major console exclusives like Starfield. Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, and Gollumare just a few of the games coming to Xbox that could define 2022. There are plenty of other games scheduled for after April 2022 or tentatively announced for the year.

Elden Ring, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands are all good-to-great, and they offer wildly different experiences from each other. So far, 2022 has produced a number of stellar games, particularly in the open-world genre. The Xbox Series X/S has yet to reach that point, although things are moving in that direction. Consoles typically do not start to flourish until the latter half of their existence, once cross-gen stops being a priority and developers can focus exclusively on crafting projects for only the most modern systems.
